POP E-mail Account
Allows you to create
POP accounts by specifying users email addresses and selecting
passwords.
Autoresponders
Just like having an "answering machine" for your
website, autoresponders Allows you to create automatic email
responses to emails sent to certain addresses. For example,
should an email be sent to address@yourdomain.com by doe@anywhere.com,
upon receipt of the email a response is automatically generated,
consisting of any message you have created, and sent back
to the sender of the original email ie doe@anywhere.com.
Forwarders
Allows you to create individual forwarders for email. For
example, should you have an address of orders@yourdomain.com,
and you set the forwarder to eg doe@anywhere.com, any email
sent to orders@yourdomain.com, will be automatically forwarded
to doe@anywhere.com.

| Account
Size |
Disk space
Each file in your web site whether it be a .html file, .jpg
file, .gif file or any other file is a different size, usually
measured in bytes. The disk space that your web site uses consists
of the sum of the file sizes that make up your web site.
Data transfer
When someone is viewing your web site they are in fact downloading
it using their browser (eg Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator)
and loading the files that make up the web site onto the hard
drive on their computer. Should someone view a page, for example,
that is 10,000 bytes, that is the level of data transfer.
Domain hosting eg yourdomain.com
We host your web site on your own domain name. For example,
if your domain name is tables.com, your web site is located
at tables.com. This allows you to register this unique domain
name with the search engines, and for your web site to be
found when searched for.
Other companies offer professional web hosting, and then place
your web site as a part of their own pages. For example, mediahostnet.com/~members.
That is not a good result for you. Your web site becomes part
of another web site, and the search engines will not be able
to find you when someone is undertaking a search for your
web site, or products or services that you offer.
For that reason, we do not offer that type of hosting as to
do so would be a dis-service to our clients.
Unlimited hits
There is no limit on the number of individual visitors
to your web site.
Sub-domains
By way of example, you may have a web site called slimming.com,
and wish to have an area of your web site that deals exclusively
with sales. To do that, you could have a sub-domain set-up.
The sub-domain for slimming.com could be sales.slimming.com.
The sub-domain has all the features that belong to the full
domain including its own control panel.
Naturally the disk space and data transfer levels that are
used in the sub-domain are included in the value allocated
to you for the full domain under whichever hosting plan you
have chosen.

| Web
Site Management |
Advanced Control Panel
Our Advanced Control Panel makes the management of your web
site very simple which is available with each Linux Hosting
account.
The control panel is very user friendly and allows you to complete
a range of tasks such as uploading files, setting up email accounts,
viewing statistics, inserting a counter into your web site and
much more.
FTP
You need an FTP account to upload or download files to/from
the server. With our Control Panel you can manage your FTP
accounts.
Telnet
A telnet account is just another name for a Unix/Linux username.
It is very useful to manage the configuration of your domain.
When you sign up, you get a username and password. You may
ask for more than one username. Regular accounts include one,
additional setups are available for an additional charge.
Multiple telnet accounts are useful when more than one staff
member will be working on the domain. You may wish to set
it up so that different accounts have different security levels.
For example, you could make it so only one telnet account
could access your listserver data. For those of you wishing
sophisticated access control, we will be happy to create additional
groups for your domain. That may not make sense to those of
you who are not Unix veterans, but it can allow you to have
one account able to access only one directory while your others
can access all directories, including that one.
Some of the programs available at the shell prompt are mail,
a primitive email program, and pine, a much more powerful
email program, ftp, to FTP onto other sites, telnet, to telnet
onto other sites, and lynx, a text-only WWW browser, pico,
an easy to use text editor.
MS Front Page extensions
(97, 98 ,2000)
Microsoft Frontpage is a program that is used to design
and construct websites. Once the web site has been created,
it then can be uploaded using Microsoft Frontpage's web publishing
wizard.
In order for you to be able to upload your web site using
Microsoft Frontpage we need to install Microsoft Frontpage
extensions on your account. We install extensions when we
receive your order and we are setting up your account.

| Other
Features |
Cgi-bin Access
To make your website interactive you need a server-side script
(CGI) to interact with your customer. We have provided some
pre-installed scripts for you , such as form-mail, guestbook,
counters, etc.
Normally these scripts will reside in your cgi-bin directory
under your public_html directory. So, if your domain was yourdomain.com,
then you would access your scripts via URL http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/your-script-file.
We also provide you an access to this directory, so you can
add your own scripts. But, we do ask that the installed cgis
are reasonable in their usage of CPU timeand memory. While we
do not require that they be submitted for approval first, resource
hungry CGI's that consume substantial system resources will
have to be removed should we request it.
Server Side Include (SSI)
Server Side Includes are special HTML files that get read
and processed by the server before being transmitted to your
browser. They usually have an extension of .shtml instead
of .html. When the file is read in, the server searches for
any commands it recognizes, and does things like search-and-replace,
file insertion, or execute a CGI.
The output of any SSI command is merged into the HTML page,
and then delivered to your browser. It is similar to including
Javascript, but is not browser dependant, and can do many
things that are specific to server functions.
MySQL
MySQL is an easy but powerful database system. We provide
it for your need of a database system in your website. MySQL
is available on each account and is installed when you order
or request its installation.
Real Audio & Real Video
Real Servers are real time audio and/or video transmission/playing
systems. A digital audio or video stream is transmitted from
the server over the internet to the destination and played
immediately, rather than beingstored to disk first and then
played. With this extra added feature, visitors to your website
need not wait forseveral minutes, or longer, to listen to
an audio file, or view a video file, while the large file
is downloading. With Real technology, the audio/video starts
playing from the first few bytes of data that is downloaded.
This is called streaming technology
Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
For transmissionn of an important and secret data, such as
credit card number, purchase order, password, we provide SSL
to make the trasmission secure. With SSL the data and the
URL being transmitted will be encrypted. Therefore, should
anyone intercept the transmission, the information is indecipherable.
SSL is supported by the major web browsers such as Microsoft
Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.
However, to access the secure sever you need an digital SSL
certificate. Contact us for more detail information about
this.
